Security In Hiddenbrooke

At our past HCA Board meeting, retired deputy sheriff Matthews had some very good ideas and suggestions to help address the increased concerns regarding the security in Hiddenbrooke.

Over the past few months, there has been a vigorous discussion about the security of Hiddenbrooke residents.  All of the dialogue has been useful, but it's now time for action.  Some of the ideas that will be explored will require some effort from the Community.

Three of the most promising are:
1. The establishment of a law enforcement substation in one of the vacant store fronts in Hiddenbrooke Plaza.  This would be a meeting/working space for the Vallejo Police Dept., the Solano County Sheriff's Dept., or the California Highway Patrol.  It would be a desk and phone center, where officers could stop and write their many daily reports.

2. Formalize the Neighborhood Watch Program.

3. Work with the city to build and train a group of citizen police volunteers to focus on the Hiddenbrooke Community.

A working group is being established under the Hiddenbrooke Community Association's safety committee, co-chaired by Jason Hamilton and Richard Tirrell.  This also includes the emergency preparedness functions for Hiddenbrooke.  All interested parties, including health care providers, emergency responders, and law enforcement related or interested residents are urged to join in this effort.  Please send an email to retirrell@comcast.net, and we will schedule our first general meeting.
Thank You.
